Michele Mangani, born in Urbino, he graduated from the Conservatory “Gioachino Rossini” of Pesaro in Clarinet, Wind Band Instrumentation, Composition, Orchestra Conducting, and from the Conservatory “G.B. Martini” of Bologna in Choral Music and Choral Conducting.

In 1996 he won the National Competition for Conducting Band of the Italian Army. He was awarded in numerous composition competitions including: September 1983 1st prize in the 3rd National composition “DIAPASON SILVER” Gonzaga (MN); 1988 in the national competition for band and choral compositions inspired to the folksongs of Marche; January 2000 2rd prize in the 1st National Competition for Original Band Compositions organized by the Foundation Institute of Musical Valle d’Aosta; September 2001 3rd prize in the 1st National Competition for Band Compositions “Pellegrino Caso” in Vietri sul Mare (SA); August 2002 the 1st prize in the National Competition for Band composition in Adro (BS); June 2003 the 1st prize in the 3rd National Competition for Band Compositions “Pellegrino Caso” in Vietri sul Mare (SA); July 2004 1st prize in the European design of a composition inspired by the values of education and sport launched the project transnational “Education and sports: values without borders”; July 2004 3rd prize in the 4th National Competition for Band Compositions “Pellegrino Caso” in Vietri sul Mare (SA); August 2005 1st prize in the 1st International Competition for Band Composition on “Villotte Friuliane” of Udine; August 2006 2nd prize in the cat. A and 2nd prize in the cat. B in the the 1st International Competition for Original Band Compositions “Città di Sinnai” (CA); January 2007 2nd prize in the first category and 2nd prize in the Third category in the 1st International Competition for Band Composition “La prime Lûs” in Bertiolo (UD); July 2008 he received the signaling in the 2nd International Competition for Original Young Band Compositions “Città di
Sinnai” (CA) ; March 2009 1st prize in the National held by the Band F. Marchiori of Polpenazze del Garda (BS); May 2010 2nd prize cat. A and 1st prize cat. B in the 3rd International Competition for Original Young Band Compositions “Città di Sinnai” (CA); April 2012 the 2nd prize cat. C in the 4th International Competition for Original Young Band Compositions “Città di Sinnai” (CA); March 2014 1st prize cat. B and 2st prize cat. B in the 5th International Competition for Original Young Band Compositions “Città di Sinnai” (CA).

In May 2008, he was commissioned the World Anthem of the Geologists “Fanfare and Theme for the Planet Earth” by International Union of Geological Sciences and UNESCO. He is a founding member, artistic director and conductor of the Marche Wind Orchestra and he is teacher of Chamber Music for Wind Instruments at the Conservatory “G. Rossini” in Pesaro.
