Hi, I am Jazmin Szurcsik and I am a 13 year old girl with Hungarian roots but born and raised in Norway.
I started playing the clarinet when I was 4 years old and it just started as a hobby. I study clarinet with my father at the Færder music school in Nøtterøy where I also am in a clarinet ensemble and play in the local school band with my friends. My father was my teacher from the very beginning when I started to play the clarinet. I still have lessons with my dad several times a week and I have lessons with Leif Arne Pedersen (solo clarinetist of the Oslo Philharmonic) once a month. I have been on several masterclasses and competitions and won many of them. When I was eight years old, I played solo with the royal Norwegian Navy Band, and the day after was actually the day I decided to do it professionally. In 2022 may I won the Youth Music Competition in Norway, and with that I won to play solo with them again.
