Antonio Capolupo 

Antonio Capolupo is the new principal clarinet of the Royal Opera house of Turin in Italy. Previously He held for 8 years the solo clarinet position at the Belgian National opera house “La Monnaie”. Winner also in 2022 of the principal clarinet position in the orchestra of the Teatro Real of Madrid.

He collaborated with National Orchestra of France as principal clarinet under the baton of the Maestro Daniele Gatti, with the Royal Concertgebouw orchestra, OSR-Orchestre de la Suisse Romande of Geneva, Opera de Toulon as soloist, Belgian National orchestra, Teatro San Carlo of Naples.

In January 2019 He made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra of “La Monnaie” at the Bozar of Brussels, playing for the world premiere of a modern piece m dedicated to him by the well known Spanish composer Mauricio Sotelo, under the baton of the Maestro Alain Altinoglu. He performed also at the Carnegie Hall of New York in 2022 with the Symphonic orchestra of Madrid, Salisburg festival, Mozarteum of Salisburg, National Auditorium of Madrid, Auditorium “Giovanni Agnelli” of Torino, Teatro “La Fenice” of Venice.

Winner of 11 international competitions, some to mention: 1st prize international clarinet competition “Marco Fiorindo”, 2nd prize international clarinet competition “Saverio Mercadante”, 1st prize international clarinet competition city of Chieri, 2nd prize AudiMozart international music competition.

He graduated with the highest honors at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Torino, then He completed his studies at the Santa Cecilia National Academy of Roma with the Maestro Alessandro Carbonare.

He gives regularly masterclasses in Italy and abroad, most important to mention are in Holland, China, Greece and Belgium.

Antonio Capolupo is also an ambassador and collaborator of the clarinet company Selmer Paris, Silverstein works and Vandoren Paris.
