Born in São José dos Campos-SP BRAZIL Marquinho Sax started in music in 1990 studying popular acoustic guitar, met the saxophone in 1993 and started his studies as a self-taught. The following year he was already in the studio recording with his first band “Banda Vida Reluz” with which he toured all over Brazil.
In 1998 he joined FAMUSC (University of Art and Music Santa Cecília) in the Bachelor of Saxophone course.
With the recognition of his work as a “sideman” on the stage and in the participation in the studios recording with Gospel and Popular artists Marquinho Sax started receiving proposals for partnerships with companies in the music industry in 2003, the first of which was from BARKLEY MOUTHPIECES, currently Marquinho Sax endorses renowned brands of instruments and accessories from Brazil, the United States, France.
In addition to working with musical and didactic entertainment, giving workshops and “masterclasses” in Brazil and many countries at South America. the following stand out in his international career:
– 2014 launch of the CD “DREAM MUSIC” in Europe, passing through Frankfurt (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Lille and Paris (France), Zurich and Luzern (Switzerland);
– 2016 The first participation at the NAMM SHOW in Anaheim-California- USA
– 2016 Participation as a guest musician at the Latin American International Luthiers Seminar in Mendoza-Argentina;
– 2016 Pocket Show and official endorsement of SILVERSTEIN WORKS products in New Jersey-New York;
– 2017 Participation in the BARKLEY SMOOTH JAZZ FESTIVAL Festival in LIMA-PERU;
– 2018 Release of the album “WORSHIP MADE IN BRAZIL” at NAMM SHOW Anaheim-CA – USA
– 2018 Invited as a Teacher / Speaker and international musical attraction at the 1st International Festival and Saxophone Competition in QUITO-ECUADOR
– 2019 Presentation at MUSIC CHINA in SHANGAI representing Brazil at the stands of the companies it endorsees.
– 2020 Presentation at NAMM SHOW in Aneheim- California (USA)
