Simone Weber

“No matter what clarinet, reed or mouthpiece I use, from e flat to bass clarinet, the Silverstein HEXA works its magic in adding a pinch of warmth, depth and projection to my sound, whilst the incredible ease of response allows me to fully express myself! My favorites are titanium, gold and rosé gold: each ligature has its charm and there is certainly one that works its magic for you too!”

Simone Weber is an active performer, clarinet and dispokinesis teacher as well as mental coach based in Luxembourg.

Born in Luxembourg in 1985, Simone Weber discovered the clarinet at the age of nine and her passion for music was ignited. A wide-ranging musical education at the Luxembourg Conservatory and the Landesmusikgymnasium Rheinland-Pfalz was followed by studies in Germany and the USA. Succeeding a Master of Music Performance summa cum laude with Prof. Michèle Gingras, she graduated with a concert diploma both in clarinet performance as well as chamber music with Prof. Johannes Gmeinder. On the bass clarinet, she obtained a Diplôme Supérieur with Prof. Marcel Lallemang. Masterclasses with Eduard Brunner, Charles Neidich and François Benda on modern clarinet as well as Alan Hacker and Gilles Thomé on period clarinets refined her playing.

After serving as second and bass clarinetist with the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra for two seasons, she followed the call of her homeland in 2014, where she was appointed as clarinet and chamber music teacher at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.

Simone Weber has won prizes at several competitions in Luxembourg and Germany, and has performed as soloist with the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha, the Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg, the Luxembourg Clarinet Choir and the Estro Armonico Luxembourg. She primarily focuses on chamber music and lesser known repertoire for clarinet. Her first CD, featuring trios for clarinet, horn and piano will be released in spring 2025.

Besides her artistic career, Simone Weber is also a certified Dispokinesis teacher and performance coach, specializing in musicians’ health and mental well-being.

Since 2023, Simone Weber serves as President of the Luxembourg Clarinet Association and organizes an annual symposium, the Luxembourg Clarinet Days. She is also a founding member of the European Clarinet Association.

Simone Weber performs on instruments made by Jochen Seggelke, Bamberg and is a Selmer mouthpiece artist.
