Antonio Capolupo
Holds the solo clarinet position at the Brussels Opera House “La Monnaie” Belgian National Opera since 2016, winner also of the solo clarinet position in the orchestra of the Teatro Real of Madrid in 2022. He held previously the position of first clarinet at the BNO-Belgian National Orchestra in 2015.
He collaborated with National Orchestra of France as principal clarinet under the baton of the M. Daniele Gatti, with the Royal Concertgebouw orchestra, OSR-Orchestre de la Suisse Romande of Geneva, Opera de Toulon as soloist, Teatro Regio of Torino, Teatro San Carlo of Napoli.
In January 2019 He made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra of “La Monnaie” at the Bozar of Brussels, playing for the world premiere of a modern piece dedicated to him by the wellknown Spanish composer Mauricio Sotelo, under the baton of the Maestro Alain Altinoglu.
He performed also in other important concert halls and events, such as Carnegie Hall of New York in 2022 with the Symphonic orchestra of Madrid, Salisburg festival, Mozarteum of Salisburg, National Auditorium of Madrid, Auditorium “Giovanni Agnelli” of Torino, San Carlo theatre of Napoli.
Winner of 11 international competitions, most important: 1st prize international clarinet competition “Marco Fiorindo”, 2nd prize international clarinet competition “Saverio Mercadante”, 1st prize international clarinet competition city of Chieri, 2nd prize AudiMozart international music competition.
He graduated with the highest honors at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Torino, then He completed his studies at the Santa Cecilia National Academy of Roma with the M° Alessandro Carbonare.
He gives masterclasses in Belgium, Italy and abroad in the Conservatories, most important to mention are inChina at the Central Conservatory of Beijing, and at the Conservatory “Vincenzo Bellini” of Catania in Sicily.
