David Cabrejos

Saxophonist, educator, ensemble, and big band conductor from Peru with over 20 years of musical experience.

He has participated in various Peruvian music and jazz festivals in Peru, Brazil, USA, Canada, Portugal, Spain, and Belgium, with bands such as Cimarrones, David Cabrejos Sexteto, Vanguardia Perú Big Band, Bareto, Actitud Modulada, and Los Calypsos. Additionally, he is an endorsed artist for Brazilian saxophone mouthpiece brand Barkley Mouthpiece.
He has shared the stage with musicians like Eric Marienthal, Lenny Pickett, Andy Montañés, Adam Rappa, Tony Succar, Oscar Stagnaro, among others. David leads the “Vanguardia Perú Big Band,” a jazz ensemble with nearly 10 years of experience, comprised of the most prominent musicians in the Lima jazz scene. They perform a repertoire that fuses Peruvian music with jazz. In the field of education, he directs the “Tempo Big Band” at the Tempo School of Music.
Currently, he is a professor of Pop and Blues ensembles at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) and provides private saxophone lessons. David will release his first album with his Peruvian jazz sextet in October 2023.
